Job summary

Altius Talent, partnering with a well-established freight forwarding and customs brokerage, is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer for its Queens, NY operation. You will prepare and transmit entries for ocean and air shipments, ensuring accuracy and CBP compliance.

You will classify merchandise with HTS codes, review invoices and B/Ls, and coordinate with CBP and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in a similar customs brokerage role.
• Strong working knowledge of HTS classification, CBP regulations, and ABI filing.
• Experience with CargoWise or similar customs entry software preferred.
• Familiarity with PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.) a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working on-site in a high-volume operations environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit customs entries (ABI) for ocean and air import shipments.

• Monitor ISF filings and flag compliance issues as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade regulations, tariffs, and customs rulings.
