The role focuses on preparing and filing accurate customs entries for import shipments, ensuring compliance with CBP regulations and client requirements. This position suits a detail-oriented professional with strong HTS knowledge and ABI filing experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in a similar customs brokerage role.
• Strong knowledge of HTS classification and CBP regulations.
• Experience with ABI filing and related customs processes.
• Familiarity with PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.) is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit customs entries (ABI) for ocean and air import shipments.
• Classify merchandise using HTS codes and determine duties, taxes, and fees.
• Review shipping documents for accuracy and compliance (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading).
• Coordinate with CBP, PGAs, and internal teams to resolve entry discrepancies or holds.
• Ensure timely release of shipments and proper recordkeeping per CBP requirements.
• Monitor ISF filings and flag compliance issues as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade regulations, tariffs, and customs rulings.

Position Overview:

The Customs Entry Writer will be responsible for preparing and filing accurate customs entries for import shipments, ensuring full compliance with CBP regulations and client requirements. This role suits a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of tariff classification and entry processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and transmit customs entries (ABI) for ocean and air import shipments
• Classify merchandise using HTS codes and determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees
• Review shipping documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) for accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate with CBP, PGAs, and internal operations teams to resolve entry discrepancies or holds
• Ensure timely release of shipments and proper recordkeeping per CBP requirements
• Monitor ISF filings and flag compliance issues as needed
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade regulations, tariffs, and customs rulings
