ClearFreight in New York is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to prepare, review, and file accurate CBP entries for imported shipments, ensuring timely release and clearance.

You will review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and origin certificates, spot missing or incorrect data, and work with customers, carriers and internal teams to move shipments smoothly from entry through delivery and billing.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in a customs brokerage operation.
• Knowledge of customs entry processing, import documentation, CBP requirements, and HTSUSA preferred.
• Experience with customs brokerage software and electronic data transmission systems is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, review, and file accurate customs entries with CBP.
• Review shipment documentation and ensure accuracy (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, origin certificates).
• Spot missing or inaccurate information and resolve discrepancies.
• Input and transmit accurate shipment and entry data to CBP and other agencies.
• Keep entries compliant with CBP regulations, PGA requirements, customer instructions, and company procedures.
• Serve as the go-to for customers on customs inquiries, entry rejections, post-entry amendments, refund requests, and other brokerage matters.
• Flag compliance concerns and escalate non-routine transactions when needed.
• Run point on assigned customers' shipments from entry prep through clearance, delivery, and billing.
• Respond quickly to customer questions with updates on status and required documentation.
• Track and trace shipments to anticipate delays and clearance issues.
• Coordinate transportation and delivery after customs release.
• Maintain complete, accurate files and visible documentation at every stage.
