Job summary

FedEx Logistics in Romulus, MI is seeking a customer service–oriented freight coordinator to support outbound and inbound movements and ensure timely release of shipments. You will prepare documentation for customs, communicate with brokers, and resolve issues to keep freight moving smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and at least 6 months of brokerage/transportation or customer service experience, with familiarity in HTS classifications and U.S. customs requirements.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of brokerage or transportation experience and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HTS classification and Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and other federal requirements.
• Paid training provided.
• Preferred qualifications include MS Office (Word, Excel) and MS Teams experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service and resolve issues to ensure timely freight release or movement.
• Prepare and submit documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Maintain relationships with brokers and service providers to exceed customer expectations.
• Identify and resolve problems delaying shipments; perform routine post-entry activities.
• Interact with customers and internal teams; generate operational trend reports and communicate exceptions.
