Job summary

San Francisco Compute seeks a customer-facing support engineer to help enterprise customers run workloads on GPU/AI infrastructure. You will own inbound tickets, triage issues across compute, networking, and platform layers, and communicate clearly under pressure.

This role requires 3–5 years in technical support, strong Linux and scripting skills, and a calm demeanor in incident situations. You will work across time zones as part of a 24/7 coverage model and contribute to runbooks and knowledge

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in technical support, customer support engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Comfortable troubleshooting infrastructure-level issues - Linux administration, basic shell or Python scripting, and hands-on monitoring/observability tools.
• Excellent written communication skills, to both customers and internal teams.
• Calm under pressure and able to handle 24/7 coverage during incidents.

Responsibilities

• Own inbound support tickets and live escalations for enterprise customers on GPU/AI infrastructure.
• Triage and resolve issues across compute, networking, and platform layers; address scheduling/orchestration and performance problems.
• Communicate clearly with technical customers; set expectations and provide real status updates.
• Hand off cleanly across time zones to ensure seamless follow-the-sun coverage.
• Escalate hardware, data-center, or facility-level issues with clear handoffs to the right teams.
• Contribute to runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base; improve processes and tooling.
