Job description

• Interface with internal and external customers, including Sales Reps, Builders, Designers, Contractors, and walk-in customers, in person and over the phone
• Deliver customer service and streamline coordination between the company and its customers
• Assist customers with product selections and resolve inquiries
• Enter orders accurately and efficiently
• Coordinate account operations, including order entry, product and pricing inquiries, and order status and tracking
• Process payments, enter vendor stock orders, manage open orders, reconcile the cash drawer, and prepare bank deposits and end-of-day paperwork
• Maintain showroom cleanliness, safety compliance, sample updates, and monthly inventory audits
• Prepare basic sample boards for branch and customer showrooms
• Manage inventory from receiving, inspection, labeling, and stocking through picking, packing, and shipping
• Conduct daily warehouse inventory reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Generate and maintain inventory reports
• Handle will-call customers and provide professional service
• Receive, record, issue, and transport goods
• Operate a forklift to load and unload freight from inbound and outbound trucks and customer vehicles
• Keep the warehouse, loading docks, ramps, and building exterior clean, organized, and safe
• Support branch operations by answering phone inquiries, greeting walk-in customers, and generating or processing pick slips
• Perform other tasks assigned to support customer service and warehouse operations

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in building, construction, design, or warehouse environments preferred
• Results-driven, customer-focused, highly organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and thrive in a busy environment
• Outstanding leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, and listening skills
• Strong relationship-building skills and composure under pressure
• Knowledge of database and query functions; functional computer skills required
• Ability to accurately read and respond to non-verbal communication
• Excellent basic math skills, including piece-to-square-foot calculations and product counting/tracking
• Ability to create and produce basic sample boards and handle inventory safely and efficiently
• Forklift certification and experience using a wet saw are a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, or other language as appropriate for the area
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Ability to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms for prolonged periods
• Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, climb, and balance as part of daily activities
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, occasional fumes or airborne particles, varying temperatures, and loud noise levels
• Ability to talk on the phone and use computers for extended periods
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently will be required
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and adhere to the company’s dress code policy
