Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Customer Service Representative to engage with customers by phone and in person, clarify needs, research parts, quote and take orders, and deliver post-order support. You will strive to meet or exceed monthly sales goals while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Based in a service and parts center, the role offers growth into sales or management, and includes training, tuition assistance, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• 6 months of customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent telephone, and written skills, including English grammar.
• Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Enjoys working with computers, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook & Excel) and comfortable with Google search engine.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR).
• SAP / ERP experience, preferred but not required.
• Some knowledge of industrial distribution products and hydraulics, preferred but not required.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to multitask, sense of humor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers by phone and in person at our facility.
• Use your customer service skills and talents to clarify their needs, do research, and (after you get up to speed) recommend parts.
• Be focused and driven to meet / exceed monthly sales goals while increasing customer satisfaction.
• Process quotes, take orders and provide post-order service.
