Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Skokie, IL is seeking an Order Management Specialist to accurately enter customer orders in JD Edwards, maintain data, and serve as the primary contact for order status and delivery updates. This on-site, full-time role focuses on data accuracy and customer satisfaction.

You will coordinate with planning and production to process changes, issue documentation, track KPIs, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• MRP/ERP experience with JD Edwards preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to perform repetitious work with high attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret business documents and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing operations and process flows.
• Independent and team-based work capability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Aerospace industry experience or related manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively communicate delays or issues to maintain customer satisfaction and relationships.
• Process order changes in coordination with planning and production.
• Record contractual discrepancies in customer portal ensuring timely resolution.
• In coordination with production and shipping, issue purchase orders to outside processors and track deliveries.
• Prepare shipping and compliance documentation as required.
• Print work orders for distribution to the production floor.
• Complete work orders with data accuracy and timely reporting.
• Support cycle counts or physical inventory as needed.
• Assist team with administrative tasks as required.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and track KPIs such as On-Time Delivery and backlog.

• Track and report key performance indicators (KPI's) such as On-Time Delivery and backlog status.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for missed targets.

Qualifications

• MRP/ERP experience, JD Edwards a plus
• Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to perform repetitious work and maintain a high attention to detail and consistency.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents, technical procedures or operating procedures.
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing operations and process flows
• Work independently and collaboratively with the team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in the aerospace industry or in related manufacturing environments is preferred.
