Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a purchasing professional to coordinate with planning and manufacturing, ensuring prioritization of purchase orders and timely delivery. The role involves expediting schedules, tracking status, and communicating with Sales, Customers, and management to meet customer promises.

Candidates should have at least 3 years in purchasing, a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), and be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Review production schedule with Planning and Manufacturing to communicate priorities.
• Follow up on special requests or work orders to anticipate delays.
• Expedite operations to meet shipping plans and communicate with departments and customers.
• Track order status and report production delays to stakeholders.
• Monitor delivery timelines and customer promises; provide updates.
• Prepare summaries on order status to assist Sales and Management.
• Maintain weekly visibility on part shortages and coordinate with suppliers.

• Export-Controlled Data This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items

Responsibilities

• Reviews production schedule and works with Planning and Manufacturing to ensure communication of priorities among Purchase Orders.
• Follows up on special requests or work orders from Sales or Management identify any anticipated delays in support of shipping plan.
• Expediting operations that delay schedules and altering schedules to meet unforeseen conditions by communicating with various departments and customers.
• Reviews production schedule for orders and reports or records the status of those orders to identify and production delay.
• Review, track and monitor projected delivery timeline to customer promise dates
• Prepares summary reports on the status of orders to assist Sales, Customers andManagement.
• Maintain weekly visibility on any part shortages.
• Negotiates with Howmet factories and Customers regarding expedite fees, delivery date improvements.
• Contacts 3rd party suppliers for delivery information on Purchase Orders

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 3 minimum years of experience in Purchasing or related experience.
• High School Diploma.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Benefits/Salary

• The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $49K to $65K.

• Intermediate spreadsheet, database and other software application skills
• Knowledge in sales or customer related roles in aerospace fasteners or related industry.
