Job summary

Howmet Aerospace seeks an organized order management professional to enter customer orders in JD Edwards and manage related data. You will be the main contact for order status inquiries and delivery updates, proactively communicating delays to sustain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include coordinating order changes with planning and production, recording discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a high-precision aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• MRP/ERP experience required; JD Edwards a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing operations and aerospace environment preferred.
• Work independently and with the team; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter customer orders and maintain related data in JD Edwards and customer portals.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer order status inquiries, expedite requests and delivery updates.
• Proactively communicate any delays or issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining strong relationships.
• Process order changes in coordination with planning and production.
• Record contractual discrepancies in customer portal ensuring timely resolution.

Cross Functional Support

• In coordination with production and shipping, issue purchase orders to outside processors, proactively tracking deliveries and reporting delays to the production team.
• Prepare shipping and compliance documentation as required.
• Print work orders for distribution to the production floor.
• Complete work orders with a focus on data accuracy and timely reporting.
• Support cycle counts or physical inventory as needed.
• Support team with administrative tasks as required.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting

• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance order management, efficiency, accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as On-Time Delivery and backlog status.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for missed targets.

Qualifications

• MRP/ERP experience, JD Edwards a plus
• Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to perform repetitious work and maintain a high attention to detail and consistency.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents, technical procedures or operating procedures.
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing operations and process flows
• Work independently and collaboratively with the team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in the aerospace industry or in related manufacturing environments is preferred.
