Job summary

Johnson County Community College's Bookstore is seeking a part-time clerk to assist customers, operate a cash register, stock shelves and support inventory control. You will handle inquiries, process transactions and help with special projects as needed.

Only a High School Diploma and at least one year of related experience are required. The role offers 25 hours per week, weekdays, with a starting pay range of $16.68 to $21.23 per hour, DOE.

  • Ability to assist with inventory, pricing and merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with purchases and perform cashiering duties.

  • Answer general customer questions and de-escalate complaints.
  • Assist other Bookstore departments with orders, price checks, and inventory.
  • Onboard and train new Bookstore clerks on procedures.
  • Process returns, exchanges, and internal transfers.

Position Summary

Aid and support all aspects of Bookstore operations and maintain positive customer service to Bookstore staff, college faculty and staff members, students, and local patrons. Provide general Bookstore information and sales support, maintain the sales floor, handle customer inquiries and complaints, and operate a cash register.
