Job summary

City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide initial and frequent contact with the public by phone and in person under the Customer Service Manager. You will perform data entry of customer payments, provide information on services, and assist existing customers with billing questions.

The role emphasizes accuracy, strong communication, and the ability to balance cash receipts daily.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a customer service atmosphere, performing varied office/clerical tasks and data entry.
• High School Diploma.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of customer payments with extreme accuracy and timeliness, and balance cash receipt batches daily.
• Receive payments via the counter, incoming mail, and night deposit box.
• Answer customer questions on existing accounts, provide information about services, and assist with billing questions.
• Access and update customer accounts and maintain records of interactions and transactions.
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve customer service and work with other departments.
