Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Representative to assist customers with pickups, quotes, charges, tracing, and appointments. You will support the Service Center Manager, coordinate with drivers and interline partners, and handle documentation such as bills of lading.

The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong communication, data entry skills, and provide reliable service to customers.

• Assist the Service Center Manager and take messages for Account Managers.
• Provide assistance to Drivers and prepare bills of lading and delivery receipts.
• Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers and interline companies.
• Support with freight pickup requests, rate quotes, and shipment tracing.
• Coordinate appointments or special requests and assist with related tasks.

Customer Service Representatives are responsible for assisting Dayton Freight customers with a variety of inquires including freight pickup requests, rate quotes or freight charges, hot shipments, shipment tracing and appointments or special requests.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Service Center Manager
• Take and deliver messages for the Service Center Manager and Account Managers
• Provide assistance to Drivers
• Prepare bills of lading and delivery receipts
• Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers as well as interline companies

Starting Pay: $18.50/hour.

Pay does vary depending on relevant industry experience.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to perform administrative and clerical tasks in an office and Service Center environment. Duties may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, light lifting, reaching, and handling office materials or freight-related items, with occasional entry into dock or trailer areas as needed.
