Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health – District 2 is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support Forsyth County Environmental Health Department. The role involves handling inquiries, processing payments, and maintaining records to assist EH programs and permitting processes.

Two levels of CSR are described; HS diploma or GED required, with experience as detailed for each level. Spanish language ability is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Customer Service Representative 1 requires a high school diploma/GED and one year of experience in customer service.
  • Customer Service Representative 2 requires a high school diploma/GED and two years of customer service experience; or one year at the CSR 1 level.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, works with the general public and internal/external customers to provide information and services to meet expectations.
  • Under general supervision, handles information and services for the general public and internal/external customers.
  • May resolve complicated issues involving customer service and researches policies or laws to respond to clients or visitors.
  • Answer phones for the Environmental Health department.
  • Maintain client accounts and records.
  • Accepts payment for services.
  • Assist EHS staff with correspondence and gather information to meet EH program procedures and expedite permitting.

Forsyth County Environmental Health Department is seeking a Customer Service Representative . As a Customer Service Representative with Forsyth County Environmental Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health – District 2, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities
Customer Service Representative 1

Customer Service Representative 2
  • Under general supervision, works and communicates with the general public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and services targeted to meet customer expectations.
  • May resolve complicated issues involving customer service and/or researches governing policies, procedures or laws to respond to clients or visitors.
Additional responsibilities
  • Answer phones for the Environmental Health department

  • Will assist EHS staff with various correspondence & gather all information that is necessary to meet EH program procedures & expedite the permitting process.
Minimum Qualifications

Customer Service Representative 1 High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience communicating information in a customer service setting are required.

Customer Service Representative 2 High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience communicating information in a customer service setting; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep 1 (GST120) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualification

To be able to speak, read and write Spanish.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
