Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a customer-focused team member in New Jersey to support customers at a U-Haul center. You will assist with rentals, educate customers, and manage inventory using U-Scan technology.

The role requires handling physical tasks, operating a forklift, installing hitches, and performing safety checks. A valid driver's license and the ability to lift 50 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals is required.
• Ability to perform physical duties and wear protective gear when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
• Use U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to maintain a good driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals
• Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields when required
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods and move around indoors and outdoors
• Ability to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
• Ability to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted
• U-Haul will not hire or re-hire individuals who use nicotine products in applicable states, including New Jersey
• Ability to perform physical duties involving trucks, trailers, equipment, propane, and forklifts
