Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus 3–5 years of related experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency with computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Place customer orders via phone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in (counter sales).
• Negotiate sale and purchase prices within parameters to influence gross profit.
• May adjust non-contract pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit.
• Build customer relationships to drive repeat business and process improvements.
• Order items to maintain appropriate inventory levels for customers.
• May place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per PO without approval.
• Expedite backorders and prepare orders for shipment to customers.
• Source products from branch, DC, or supplier inventory.
• Determine cost-effective shipping methods for orders.
• May handle customer returns.
• Assist less experienced reps with addressing customer needs.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, provide quotes, and handle order entry.
