Job summary

Korman Signs, a Richmond, Virginia-based manufacturer of traffic signs and work zone safety products, seeks a Customer Service & Order Processing Specialist to bridge customers and production. You will process orders, prepare quotes, and coordinate with Sales, Purchasing and Production to ensure accurate orders and timely production.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of customer service, order processing, administrative, or related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• A four-year college degree is preferred; relevant professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience with an ERP or business management system for order entry, inventory, purchasing, production, or related functions is preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel, including data entry and basic formulas.
• Comfortable learning and using multiple software applications throughout the day.
• Strong attention to detail when entering product information, materials, quantities, pricing, and customer specifications.
• Basic understanding of inventory and its effect on production scheduling and order completion.
• Ability to trace an order from request through production to shipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to ask questions, identify missing information, and follow through until issues are resolved.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities with accuracy.
• Dependable, organized, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Order Processing: Enter and manage orders and quotes in the ERP system with accurate pricing and shipping details.
• Work Order Creation: Generate work orders with Production-ready information.
• Material Allocation: Review inventory and allocate materials for production.
• Customer Service: Respond to questions and guide customers on specifications and requirements.
• Quoting: Provide pricing for standard requests and coordinate with Estimating for custom jobs.
• Order and Shipping Support: Address order status, lead times, shipping queries, and coordinate to resolve issues.
• Internal Communication: Coordinate with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Shipping and others to keep orders moving.
