Job summary

Korman Signs, a Richmond-based manufacturer of traffic signs and safety products, seeks a Customer Service & Order Processing Specialist. You will serve as the bridge between customers and production, entering orders, preparing quotes, and coordinating with Sales, Purchasing, and Production to ensure timely manufacturing.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple orders.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of customer service, order processing, administrative, or related experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment is preferred.
• A four-year college degree is preferred; relevant professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience working with an ERP or business management system for order entry, inventory, purchasing, production, or related functions is preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel, including data entry and basic formulas.

Responsibilities

• Enter and manage customer orders and quotes in our ERP system, ensuring pricing, shipping information, product details, and customer specifications are accurate.
• Create accurate work orders that provide Production with the information needed to manufacture each order correctly.
• Review inventory availability and allocate or tag materials to individual jobs so required materials are identified and available for production.
• Respond to customer questions and concerns professionally and promptly. Help customers identify appropriate products and navigate state specifications, material requirements, and other order details.
• Provide pricing for standard quote requests and coordinate with Estimating when custom products, special requirements, or non-standard pricing are involved.
• Respond to questions regarding order status, lead times, shipping, and delivery, and coordinate internally to resolve issues when they arise.
• Work closely with Sales team, Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and other departments to keep orders moving and address questions or discrepancies before they become production problems.
