Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Customer Service Representative in Kankakee, IL to be the face of our commitment to helping customers. You will assist customers, dispatch and return equipment, and ensure safety and service standards using U-Scan technology and hands-on equipment operation.

The role offers on-the-job education and opportunities for growth within a team-focused environment, with a pay range of $15.00 to $18.00 per hour and eligibility for bonuses and benefits where applicable.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hookup U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels.
• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Fill propane and forklift operation (certifications offered).
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
