Job summary

The Medina County District Library is seeking a Part-time Customer Service Clerk to assist patrons, check out materials, process passport applications and perform clerical duties at Brunswick Library in Brunswick, OH. Responsibilities include registering new patrons, answering telephones, collecting monies, making bank deposits, and resolving patron issues with a friendly, team oriented approach.

This union position, 20 hours per week, offers evenings and weekends with benefits including

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• U.S. citizen eligible to become a passport acceptance agent.
• At least one year of public-facing experience.
• Ability to learn computerized circulation system.
• Strong math and keyboarding skills.
• Effective oral and written communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Register new patrons and check out library materials.
• Assist patrons with library equipment.
• Process passport applications and accept/collect payments.
• Answer telephone and welcome patrons to the library.

CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK – PART TIME

BRUNSWICK LIBRARY

Required Knowledge And Abilities To Perform The Following

The Medina County District Library is seeking a Customer Service Clerk to provide great customer service to patrons and staff. Duties include but are not limited to registering new patrons, checking out materials, assisting patrons with Library equipment, collecting monies, preparing and making bank deposits, resolving problems for patrons, processing library materials, processing passport applications, answering telephones, welcoming patrons to the library and performing other clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess a high school degree or equivalent and be a U.S. citizen, eligible to become a passport acceptance agent; one year experience working with the public; keyboarding skills; ability to learn computerized circulation system, perform simple calculations, use language effectively, be friendly in dealing with others, and ability to work as a team member. Customer service experience a plus.

WAGE

$13.62 per hour; additional $2.00 per hour Sunday premium; Grade 1

HOURS

Part time; 20 hours per week, 4 shifts of 5 hours; flexible schedule required including some evenings, Saturdays and Sundays (schedule subject to change based on needs of the library)
