Job summary

Big Lots is seeking motivated individuals to support our Stores as we provide essential products at great values to the communities we serve.

As a Big Lots Customer Service Associate you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, greeting customers, helping them select merchandise, and completing transactions. Other duties may include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow directives and interpret retail operating documents
• Experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store environments preferred
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and engage with them in a positive, approachable manner
• Assist customers with selection of merchandise and complete transactions using the POS system
• Maintain a clean, stocked store and help unload freight as needed
• Stock shelves and recover merchandise throughout the store
• Ensure safe shopping environment by remaining aware of customer activity
