Tompkins Bank & Trust in Batavia, NY is seeking a friendly Teller to welcome customers and handle daily banking transactions with accuracy and care.

You will process deposits and withdrawals, cash checks, sell cashier’s checks, and support branch operations. Strong communication and math skills, plus reliable PC use, are essential. The role requires working Saturdays and evenings as needed and may involve occasional transfers to other branches.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Cash handling experience in banking, cash office or retail setting (6 months–1 year preferred).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to follow precise directions.
• Ability to operate teller equipment and learn banking systems quickly.
• Proficient PC skills.
• Moderate typing and ability to operate various office machines.

Responsibilities

• Accept and process deposit transactions.
• Cash checks and process withdrawals within authority and policy, verify funds.
• Sell Cashier’s Checks.
• Redeem EE Savings Bonds.
• Issue approved cash advances on Company credit cards.
• Transfer funds between accounts.
• Process utility payments and loan/credit card payments.
• Refer customers to appropriate team members for additional services.
• Respond to customer inquiries by phone.
• Balance cash drawer and prepare daily settlement and reports.
• Operate ATM/coin/currency handling tasks as needed.
• Maintain compliance with laws and internal policies.
• Provide safe deposit box service and support branch operations.
• Work Saturdays and evenings; may float to other branches.
