Tompkins Community Bank is seeking a branch teller to perform deposits, withdrawals, and related cash functions, while delivering friendly customer service. You will process payments, sell cashier’s checks, and manage daily balance reports.

The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various banking systems. Evening shifts and occasional branch floats may apply; high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Cash handling experience preferred (6 months to 1 year).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to follow precise directions and operate teller equipment.
• Proficient PC skills; typing and ability to operate office machines.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits, withdrawals, and other teller transactions accurately.
• Sell cashier’s checks and redeem EE Savings Bonds.
• Transfer funds between accounts and process payments.
• Respond to customer inquiries and refer to other staff as needed.
• Balance cash drawer and prepare reports.
• Maintain ATM/currency handling as needed.
• Open/close branch; may float to other branches.
