Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Tennessee is seeking a Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions, and maintain accurate POS operations in a fast-paced store environment. You will handle a variety of tender types, loyalty offers, and coupons while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Strong communication and basic math skills are required, along with the ability to work cooperatively in a busy retail setting and to follow company policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers; be visible in the store
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at check lane
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, coupons
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management
• Inspect equipment and report repair needs
• Create welcoming environment and assist customers including minors and guests with special needs
• Follow all laws and company guidelines; work cooperatively in high-paced environments
