Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring for a cashier/courtesy clerk role. You will greet customers, handle transactions at the checkout, and assist shoppers with product questions while upholding safety and store standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum Position Qualifications: Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Desired Previous Job Experience: Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging, and assisting customers in-store.
• Process customer transactions at the check lane quickly and accurately.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, and work to prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and request repairs when needed.
• Provide product information to customers and make them feel welcomed.
