Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a front-end cashier at our Cadillac, MI location. You will operate the cash register and scanner, itemize purchases, process payments, and assist customers with bagging while maintaining excellent service standards.

The role requires good communication, basic math, and a customer‑oriented approach. Candidates with retail experience and high school diploma are preferred; training will emphasize company programs and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; interact politely with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases and total customers.
• Process transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, coupons.
• Weight and bag customer purchases.
• Understand use of check-stand equipment and its operation.
• Maintain front-end duties and merchandising at the check-stand.
• Communicate store programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers.
