Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a friendly Cashier at our Albion, Michigan store location. You will operate the cash register and scanner to itemize purchases, process payments, and assist with bagging while delivering courteous customer service.

Required are a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and basic math/communication skills. Prior retail experience is a plus; physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods is expected.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases and total at checkout.
• Process cash, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, and coupons accurately per policy.
• Weigh and bag items; ensure correct PLUs and pricing; maintain front-end cleanliness and organization.
• Explain store programs, promotions, and coupons to customers; model high service standards.
• Follow safety, security, and PPE guidelines; assist with stocking and merchandising as needed.
