Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a friendly cashier to operate the register and scanner, itemize purchases, and assist customers with bagging and payment at a Caledonia, Michigan location. You will handle cash, card, and electronic benefits while delivering courteous service.

The role requires basic reading/writing, arithmetic, and a helpful attitude. Training includes safety, store programs, and adherence to company policies, with opportunities to support other departments as needed.

Qualifications

Customer service and polite interaction with customers.

Responsibilities

Operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases and total customer orders.
Process transactions including cash, checks, cards, vouchers and coupons accurately.
Weigh and bag customer purchases and ensure correct PLUs and pricing.
Maintain and operate check-out equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist with front-end merchandising and stocking when needed.
Communicate store programs, loyalty offers, coupons and specials to customers.
Follow cash handling, safety, and sanitation policies and report discrepancies.
Keep the check-stand area clean and organized and support other departments as needed.
