Job summary

SpartanNash, serving as a food solutions company with a widespread store network, seeks a front-end cashier in Hastings, MI. You will operate the register, handle payments, and assist customers with courteous service.

Responsibilities include processing cash and electronic payments, bagging groceries, and maintaining a clean checkout area while following company policies and safety guidelines. Previous retail experience and strong communication are preferred for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases and process payments.
• Weigh and bag customer purchases with care and efficiency.
• Ensure accurate use of PLU codes and signage; report pricing issues.
• Maintain front-end merchandising and cleanliness of the check-stand area.
• Explain store programs, loyalty benefits, and in-store promotions to customers.
• Comply with cash handling, safety, and alcohol/tobacco sale policies.
• Support stocking and department upkeep as needed.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines and guest experience standards.
