Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support operations, sales, and customer service at a Nashville area store. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, schedules, and deposits, while ensuring policy compliance and asset protection.

This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a track record in retail or supervisory settings. You may handle banking deposits and cashier accountability as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking, and rotating merchandise; build displays.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per guidelines.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cashier accountability, key control, and cash handling procedures; sign for refunds and overrides, count tills, deposit money.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
