Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to deliver excellent customer service, maintain store appearance, and assist with cashier duties. The role supports floor replenishment, stock rotation, and visual merchandising while ensuring a clean, organized store environment.

Evening and weekend availability is required. Prior experience is not necessary; a high school diploma or GED is preferred and a background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates enthusiastic, positive attitude at all times. Treats customers courteously and with interest in each encounter.
• Greets customers quickly upon entering; makes eye contact and smiles, thanks customers at end of transaction and on departure.
• Engages with customers, roams the floor to assist and provide help as needed.
• Processes customer transactions quickly and accurately within cash handling guidelines.
• Participates in stocking and rotating merchandise on the sales floor.
• Maintains floor presentation including end caps and visuals; keeps wrap desks tidy.
• Addresses store cleanliness issues by informing management when needed.
• Works in a role without supervisory responsibilities; supports team as required.
• Demonstrates alignment to store goals, including Round Up fundraising targets.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of sales floor and work areas.
• Follows safety rules and standards as outlined by the employer.
