Job summary

SpartanNash in Mandan, ND is seeking a friendly cashier who will operate the cash register and scanner, itemize purchases, receive payment, bag groceries, and provide courteous service.

You will handle transactions, assist customers, follow safety guidelines, stock as needed, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. High school diploma preferred; one year of retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases and process payments.
• Weigh and bag customer purchases while maintaining accuracy.
• Explain store programs, promotions, and coupons to customers.
• Keep the check-stand area clean and stocked; follow safety guidelines.
• Follow all PPE, food safety and guest experience guidelines.
• May assist with stocking items and other departments as needed.
