Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of prior retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail‑oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases; handle various payment methods.
• Process financial transactions accurately (cash, checks, credit cards, loyalty cards, etc.).
• Weigh and bag customer purchases.
• Understand and use check-stand equipment for efficient operation.
• Maintain front-end duties and merchandising at the check-stand.
• Ensure correct pricing/PLU usage and report pricing or signage errors.
• Follow store programs, promotions, and coupons with customers.
• Adhere to cash handling, security, and PPE guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and assist with stocking as needed.
