Job summary

Kroger in Germantown, TN is hiring a Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions, and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment. You will handle cash, credit, SNAP/EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers in compliance with store policies, while delivering friendly, high-quality service.

This role supports a fast-paced checkout area and requires honesty, integrity, and a customer-first mindset. Prior experience at a grocery store is a plus; training provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Understand and handle various tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons)
• Adhere to company cash handling, loss prevention, and checkout policies
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow POS procedures
• Stay current with current ads and promotions
• Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with equipment maintenance
• Assist customers with product questions and store navigation
