Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring a Cashier/Checker at our Springfield, TN location. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system while ensuring accurate handling of cash and other tenders in accordance with store policies.

Responsibilities include adherence to food safety guidelines, compliance with restricted sale items, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. Previous experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers and process transactions at the check lane.
• Operate POS and handle cash, checks, and various tender types per policy.
• Adhere to price checks, coupons, and exchange procedures.
• Follow company policies on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Maintain compliance with food safety guidelines and protect store assets.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions for customers.
