Job summary

Kroger in Gallatin, TN is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to welcome customers, handle transactions, and keep a clean, safe shopping space. You’ll greet shoppers, assist at the check lane, and contribute to a positive store environment.

You will process cashless and cash transactions, learn the POS system, and follow company policies on cash handling and loss prevention while delivering outstanding service to every customer.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills required.
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Follow company policies on cash handling, loss prevention and restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety programs; identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Provide excellent customer service and help customers with product questions throughout the store.
