Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies in Spring Hill, TN is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately, and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages repeat visits.

You will handle cash, checks, credit and debit, SNAP EBT, and loyalty offers, follow store policies on restricted items, report pricing discrepancies, stay current with ads and promotions, and assist customers with questions about products to deliver outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.
• Ability to greet, assist, and engage customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow postages/gift cards procedures.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions; notify management.
• Provide product information and assistance to customers throughout the store.
