Job summary

Navy Exchange in Norfolk seeks a Sales Associate for Missy/Special Sizes to be the face of our brand, assisting customers and guiding them to fitting merchandise. You’ll learn our products and articulate our purpose in a friendly, professional manner.

You will cross-sell, upsell, operate POS, handle inventory, and keep the store tidy while supporting promotions and events. No experience required; a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Availability for varied hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is not required but preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interactions.
• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage customers and build rapport.
• Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions and events.
• Cross-sell and upsell based on customer needs; knowledge of store layout.
• Use POS system for transactions and complete related paperwork and reconciliation.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure merchandise is checked in and properly ticketed.
