Job summary

Binti, a San Francisco-based, mission-driven software company, is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join the Integrations Engineering team. You’ll own high-impact, externally-facing projects—from on-site discovery to live co-development and ongoing support.

You will work directly with customers to design and deliver integrations, applying deep engineering experience, strong communication, and a service mindset in dynamic environments. Remote options are available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a customer-facing role like integrations engineer, consultant, or similar.
• Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, balancing risks, and building MVPs that are iterated upon.
• Familiarity with legacy systems (government context helpful) and the difficulties and tradeoffs of working with them.
• Ability to architect, build, and maintain distributed integrated systems.
• Comfort with APIs, data pipelines (ETL), enterprise data warehouses (EDW) and related tools.
• Ability to manage own work and time effectively.
• Excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams in product, program management, sales, and more.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery and architecture sessions with customers to ensure integrations are designed to meet needs and be performant, secure, and scalable.
• Lead co-development sessions with customers’ development teams, providing live support and consulting during integration with Binti platform and APIs.
• Develop relationships with customers’ technical teams to become a trusted partner.
• Provide integration technical support, answering questions and helping debug integrations.
• Collaborate with Integrations Team to develop improvements and bug fixes for RESTful APIs, connectors, and integration tools.
• Assist other teams (PMO, Customer Support, Sales) by explaining integration capabilities and project status.
• Synthesize and deliver product feedback to improve Binti modules and integration capabilities.
• Champion security and privacy, including HIPAA compliance considerations.
