Job summary

Factory is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in San Francisco to lead end-to-end customer deployments and integrations, partnering with client engineering teams to design robust workflows and scalable solutions.

You will act as the primary technical lead on engagements, travel regionally for on-site visits, drive migrations and modernization, and ensure successful outcomes for high-impact deployments.

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of engineering experience in customer-facing deployments or similar roles.
• Experience delivering migrations/refactors in complex production systems.
• Proficiency across a broad tech stack and ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Intrinsic motivation to fix customer problems and ensure successful deployments.
• Willingness to work in a fast-moving startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end implementation and integration of Factory into customer environments.
• Serve as primary technical lead on customer engagements; on-site with customers regularly.
• Deliver large-scale migrations, modernization, and refactoring work.
• Respond quickly to customer needs; integrate with new systems and fix critical issues.
• Learn customer use cases deeply and build tooling/documentation for scale.
• Stay current on software development practices and AI in engineering.
