Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to couple data engineering expertise with customer-facing delivery. You will own architectures, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data, AI and application development.

You will work across engineering, product and developer relations to deliver measurable business impact. The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, customer empathy and scalable solutions, with 20% travel and Databricks Certification as valued

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Cloud experience across AWS/Azure/GCP with at least one.
• Deep experience with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps and AI models.
• Design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures and apps.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines and outcomes.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery, reference architectures and data pipelines.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end-to-end design to deployment.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to enable adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions for secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to deliver engagement components.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to guide rapid resolution.
• Embed with customer teams across stakeholders from ICs to executives.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks and best practices across accounts.
