Job summary

Kroger is seeking a friendly and efficient cashier/checker to create an outstanding customer experience in Bryan, TX. The role involves greeting customers, processing transactions, and using the POS system to manage cash, checks, and various payment methods within store policy.

Team members must adhere to safety guidelines, follow promotions, and maintain accuracy in pricing and transactions. Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus, with a focus on honesty and customer service

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the POS system and handle Tender types per policy (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted item guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions; notify management.
• Inspect equipment and flag items in need of repair; maintain a welcoming environment for customers.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines; work well under pressure and manage conflicts professionally.
