Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members and provide clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day operations within store departments.
• Mentor and coach the team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with a focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Disciplinary actions and recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Ensure a safe work environment and promote the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Spend majority of time in the store communicating with customers and team members.
