Job summary

Howard County Library System at the East Columbia Branch seeks a Customer Service Specialist for a part-time role (20 hours per week) with days, evenings, and weekends. You will warmly welcome patrons, assist with checkouts, and support passport acceptance and frontline services.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of exceptional customer service, strong communication, and flexibility to work across the branch as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Minimum two years providing extraordinary customer service.
• Positive, adaptable, and forward-thinking demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at East Columbia Branch in person and over the phone.
• Checkout materials, answer questions, and guide customers to services and events.
• Support passport acceptance duties and help with copy center and self-checkout tasks.
• Maintain regular attendance and assist with opening/closing responsibilities.
