Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer. You will assist customers with questions and recommendations, manage sales transactions at the register, and help stock the store while maintaining safety and a friendly atmosphere.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior retail or service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operating documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and meet demands of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and unload trucks; stock replenishment per productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
