Job summary

Family Dollar LLC in Rockford, IL is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, manage transactions at the register, stock shelves, unload trucks, and keep the store clean and presentable.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for long periods. This part-time, on-site position offers room to grow within our retail team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Process sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and unload trucks; stock replenishment as per productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash, ensuring neat areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
