Qualifications

• Passion for customer service with total engagement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best shopping experience and exceptional checkout for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily work tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed sales goals and complete trainings.
• Support training of new team members and cross-training of high-potential talent.
• Work with leadership on department schedules to boost engagement, service, and store profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team in food safety compliance and safe operations.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display where applicable.
• Create an environment that supports Meijer culture, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period-end inventories to help achieve goals.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments.
• Not all inclusive; may perform other duties.
