Job summary

Meijer is seeking a customer-focused team member to help deliver a superior shopping experience across store operations. You will engage customers, assist with daily tasks, and support training and coaching of fellow team members. The role emphasizes teamwork, inclusivity, and adherence to store standards.

You will participate in scheduling, ensure product freshness, and assist with inventory and checkout operations while contributing to Meijer's culture of diversity and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and written/verbal clarity.
• Retail or customer-facing experience helps.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers, including checkout.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach teammates to meet customer service and sales goals and training requirements.
• Support training for new team members and cross-train talent.
• Assist with department scheduling to boost engagement, service, and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team on food safety standards and safe operations.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product displays as applicable.
• Foster an inclusive Meijer culture and respectful workplace.
• Operate registers and handle cash when needed; operate powered equipment when required.
• Participate in inventories to help meet goals and possibly lead in other departments.
