Job summary

Meijer in Evansville, Indiana, is seeking a customer-focused team member to support daily store operations, guide peers, and model exceptional customer experience on the sales floor and at the register.

The role includes scheduling input, coaching teammates to exceed service and sales goals, merchandise rotation, safety compliance, and potential lead capacity across departments; eligibility requires 18+ and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and engaging with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to influence others and build rapport quickly.
• Willingness to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to provide the best possible shopping experience, including checkout.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach teammates to exceed service and sales goals.
• Support training of new teammates and cross-training of high-potential hires.
• Assist with department scheduling to focus on engagement and sales.
• Ensure product freshness through rotation and dating policies.
• Guide team on food safety compliance and safe operations.
• Lead in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and displays where applicable.
• Foster Meijer culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate registers and cash handling when needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period-end inventories and other duties as assigned.
