Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Cashier/Checker in Covington, KY. You will greet customers, assist with their needs, and process transactions quickly and accurately at the checkout.

You will operate the POS system, handle multiple payment methods, and follow policy for discounts, stamps, gift cards, and coupons. You will adhere to food safety guidelines, support safety programs, and maintain an inviting in-store environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create a welcoming experience.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines on restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow stamp, gift card and coupon procedures.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; follow food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Provide product information and create an environment where customers feel valued.
